An absolutely WORTHY cause for your extra pennies to go to . I may do a shared adoption here if anyone is interested. Diana and I got to see this wonderful facility first hand in Chengdu China and were brought to tears at every turn!!!

another friend of mine alerted me to the plight of the moonbear.
I was appalled at how they were being treated and abused, solely for their medicinal value. I cried for days. Thank goodness there is something being done for them. The sanctuary is wonderful. What is left of my savings that I haven't donated to the Pandas (LOL) has now gone to help these bears!

You are awesome !!! There is only so much money one can spread around but it does give a feeling that there is some sort of empowerment when we can give even a bit. The folks that do the work appreciate every cent that comes their way

This is just about the worst thing I have ever heard of.

What an awful way to spend a life. This is like a horror movie. Something has to be done to stop this horrible abuse. Poor Poor Bears.

Hi Guys, I was told about this website and went over today and made some donations for the moonbears. It is an amazing organization with what they do. They provide funding for their rescue, provide updates on rescue efforts as well as allow you to donate for veterinarian care AND to adopt/befriend a rescued bear. I just did that.. I befriended Somerset. Read their stories. It is heartbreaking. These babies are born and bred to be bile providers.. they know no life other than these small cages. I cannot stop crying. We all really need to open our hearts and help these beautiful bears.. they deserve a much better life!

I actually have photos I took of the moonbear you befriended..I'll find those for you.

I have hundreds of photos from the Moon Bear Rescue in Chengdu. I just have a hard time looking at them long enough to get them into albums.

I posted quite a few of the more "happy story" ones of the moonbears in an album on Pandarazzi. They are such delightful little guys and it just breaks my heart to see what has happened to them.

I promised Rainbow (the fella who gave us the personal tour of the Moonbear base) that I would do something on this end to help the Moonbears. It's taken me some time to get on the ball but the survey for the BIG 5 gave me the shove I needed.

I am working with Animals Asia to get some moonbear items on Ebay and my website to help the cause. Our pandas have it good in the respect that they may be endangered but for the most part they are not suffering.

The moonbears go through unbelievable torture and suffering their entire lives which HAS to end now!! Olivia Newton John has even taken on the fight. We missed seeing her at the moonbear base by a couple of weeks.

The moonbear cause needs more big guns to back them Rainbow told us. He told us to go to the press. I plan to do this soon but need more of a game plan and time to work on it.

They are great people there that's for sure!! I don't know if I could do the work they do.....it rips a hole in my soul to even think about it.

Well I could go on forever about moonbears but wont. I"m just so happy you are on board helping them!!!!!! THANK YOU ELISE!!![url]

I just found this online petition to save the moonbears. I just signed. One more proactive thing we can do to save these beautiful animals.

Thank you so much Elise! This is a different petition than on I signed recently. I am signing this one and will go find the other one to post if it's still in circulation.

I just cannot stop thinking about these bears. I am in a constant state of sadness over it.
I added the petition to my facebook page and also joined the moonbear group.
In doing so I saw a woman's post for sending a letter directly to the head of the Wildlife Conservation Division ( I am checking to make sure it is still valid).. maybe you know Sandra
